Annual Reports
I believe that it is important to know how I’m working on behalf of L’nu and all Canadians.
I know how important it is to know what your representatives are doing for you. That is why I commit to publish annual reports that describe what I have done, am doing, and pledge to continue doing on behalf of L’nu and all Canadians since being sworn in on September 19, 2023. These reports will be published in the fourth quarter of each year.

Reconcilia-ACTION was a report published by my office after a listening tour throughout Mi’kma’ki, the homeland of the Mi’kmaq. Mi’kma’ki encompasses seven districts covering what is known today as Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI, Newfoundland and the Gaspé region of Québec. It also encompasses parts of Maine. Reconcili-ACTION is now being used as core reading materials in four different Mi’kmaw Studies Courses at four different universities throughout the Atlantic. While Reconcili-ACTION sought to give overview of the regions that make up Mi’kma’ki and to highlight the issues and priorities of the organizations and communities within it, this report is the first annual report of what I have been doing, as a Mi’kmaw Senator for Nova Scotia, to address and resolve those issues. It not only serves to keep my office transparent and accountable for how we spend public funds to support my work but also identifies where movement has been made and where barriers remain.

ACTION pour la réconciliation » est un rapport publié par mon bureau après une tournée d'écoute à travers Mi'kma'ki, la terre natale des Mi'kmaq. Mi'kma'ki englobe sept districts couvrant ce que l'on appelle aujourd'hui la Nouvelle-Écosse, le Nouveau-Brunswick, l'Île-du-Prince-Édouard, Terre-Neuve et la région de Gaspé au Québec. Il englobe également certaines parties du Maine. Reconcili-ACTION est désormais utilisé comme support de lecture de base dans quatre cours différents sur les études mi'kmaw dans quatre universités différentes de la région atlantique. Alors que Reconcili-ACTION visait à donner un aperçu des régions qui composent le Mi'kma'ki et à mettre en évidence les enjeux et les priorités des organisations et des communautés qui le composent, le présent rapport est le premier rapport annuel sur ce que j'ai accompli, en tant que sénateur Mi'kmaw de la Nouvelle-Écosse, pour traiter et résoudre ces enjeux. Il sert non seulement à garantir la transparence et la responsabilité de mon bureau quant à la manière dont nous dépensons les fonds publics pour soutenir mon travail, mais il identifie également les progrès réalisés et les obstacles qui subsistent.

From February to September, 2024, Senator Prosper and his team conducted a “listening tour” of the Mi’kmaw territory known as Mi’kma’ki. This territory stretches from Newfoundland to the Gaspé region of Québec. It includes the entirety of Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island, as well as parts of New Brunswick and Québec. Throughout this time, the Senator and his office met with 1,701 people over 44 meetings and 5 conferences or large events. They spent 184 hours actively engaged with meeting and event participants, learning about their achievements, stories, issues and priorities.

De février à septembre 2024, le sénateur Prosper et son équipe ont effectué une "tournée d'écoute" du territoire mi'kmaq connu sous le nom de Mi'kma'ki. Ce territoire s'étend de Terre-Neuve à la Gaspésie, au Québec. Il comprend la totalité de Terre-Neuve, de la Nouvelle-Écosse et de l'Île-du-Prince-Édouard, ainsi que des parties du Nouveau-Brunswick et du Québec. Pendant cette période, le sénateur et son bureau ont rencontré 1 701 personnes au cours de 44 réunions et de 5 conférences ou grands événements. Ils ont passé 184 heures à s'engager activement avec les participants aux réunions et aux événements, à s'informer de leurs réalisations, de leurs histoires, de leurs problèmes et de leurs priorités.
